About this policy
This policy explains how Nexus handles personal information when you browse the website, contact us, create an account or place an order. It covers the store and its support activity. Payment providers and other services may also handle information under their own policies.
Nexus is responsible for the personal information processed to operate this store and is the controller where that term applies. Our business contact is Nexus, 66 Hillpointe Way, Brunswick, GA 31525, United States. Email support@nxus.shop for privacy questions or requests.
Contact us through the Contact page with privacy questions or a request about your information. We may ask for information reasonably necessary to verify your identity before disclosing account or order information.
Information used to operate the store
Depending on how you use the website, we receive contact and billing information, the details of your order, account information, support correspondence, and information needed to make purchased downloads available. Transaction records may include payment status, transaction references and limited payment-method information supplied by the payment provider.
The store is built with WordPress and WooCommerce. Our website and its service providers also process technical information needed to deliver and protect the service, such as IP addresses, browser or device information, request times, session identifiers and security logs.
When you use the Contact form, the details you submit, such as your name, email address, subject, order reference and message, are stored in a private support inbox in the website’s administration area so an authorized administrator can review and respond to the request. A notification may be sent to our support inbox. Email providers process information included in a notification or reply. The form does not publish your message.
You do not need to send us your personal journal entries to use a downloaded guide or journal. Please avoid sending unnecessary sensitive information in support messages.
Why information is used
We use information to process and fulfil orders, provide download access, manage accounts, answer questions, resolve problems, keep business records and protect the website against misuse or fraud. We also use information where necessary to comply with legal obligations or establish and respond to legal claims.
Where the EU or UK GDPR applies, our legal basis for processing order, account and delivery information is performing our contract with you or taking requested steps before a contract. We process records needed for tax, accounting or other mandatory requirements to comply with legal obligations. Our legitimate interests in operating a reliable store, answering enquiries, preventing abuse and protecting legal rights support necessary support and security processing, subject to your rights and interests. Where an optional use requires consent, we rely on that consent and provide a way to withdraw it.
Information marked as required is needed to carry out the stated function. If required order or payment information is not provided, we may be unable to complete the purchase. You can browse without creating an account; optional information is not required simply to read the website.
Payments
Payment information is handled by the payment service selected at checkout. The provider receives information necessary to authorize and process the transaction and may collect device and activity information to authenticate payments and prevent fraud. We receive the transaction information needed to administer your order. Do not send full payment-card details in a message to Nexus.
If Stripe is used, its handling of personal information is described in the Stripe Privacy Policy. Stripe may process information for its own legal, security and fraud-prevention purposes as well as providing payment services to the store.
Who receives information
Information is available to authorized people who need it to operate the store or handle support. It is also handled by service providers as needed for website hosting, payment processing, order communications, security, backups and business administration. Relevant transaction information may be provided to banks, payment networks or authorities where necessary to complete a payment, respond to a dispute or comply with law.
Nexus operates in the United States, so information you provide is made available to a US-based business. Some providers, including Stripe, operate internationally and may process information in countries with different data protection laws. International providers describe their transfer mechanisms in their own notices. For example, Stripe describes adequacy decisions, approved contractual clauses and other applicable mechanisms in its Privacy Policy. You can ask us for details of a transfer or safeguards applicable to the information Nexus controls.
Cookies and similar storage
The store uses cookies or similar browser storage to support functions such as a shopping cart, account sessions, security and saved preferences. The Cookies page explains these functions and the choices available. Blocking necessary storage may prevent the cart, sign-in or checkout from working correctly.
Optional analytics, advertising or other non-essential technologies must be described and configured appropriately before being enabled. Where consent is required, they must remain inactive until you choose to allow them.
Retention and security
We keep information for the period needed for the purpose for which it was collected, including fulfilling orders, providing account access, handling support, meeting tax or recordkeeping requirements, and resolving disputes. Relevant criteria include the type of record, whether an account remains active and applicable legal requirements. Information may need to be retained when a deletion request conflicts with a legal obligation or an active legal claim.
The current store settings schedule removal of pending orders after seven days and failed or cancelled orders after three months, and anonymization of completed orders after four years. Inactive accounts do not currently have an automatic deletion period. These settings do not guarantee removal of every related record: legal holds, accounting records, support correspondence, security logs and backups are managed separately.
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect information. No website or method of transmission can guarantee absolute security. Keep your account credentials private and contact us if you suspect unauthorized activity.
Your choices and rights
Depending on applicable law, you may be able to request access to personal information, correction of inaccurate details, deletion, restriction of processing, an electronic copy, or an objection to certain uses. You may also withdraw consent for processing that relies on it. Rights are subject to applicable conditions and exceptions.
Use the Contact page to make a request. You may also have the right to complain to the relevant data protection authority. Exercising a privacy right does not affect consumer rights you have in relation to a purchase.
For EU/EEA or UK requests, these rights can include access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdrawal of consent. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal. You can complain to your local EU/EEA supervisory authority or the UK Information Commissioner’s Office as applicable. You do not have to contact us first to complain to an authority.
Email support@nxus.shop or use the Contact page to exercise a right or ask a question. If applicable law provides a right to appeal a decision on a privacy request, you can send the appeal to the same address and say that it is an appeal.
Changes
We will update this policy when the store’s information practices change and revise the date above. Where legally required, we will provide an additional notice about a material change.
Hosting, email and tax calculation
Nexus hosts this website and its email infrastructure on a Hostinger virtual private server. WooCommerce Tax, provided through Automattic and TaxJar, receives address and order-item information needed to calculate applicable sales tax. Stripe processes payments as described above. These providers may process information in the United States and other locations under their respective privacy terms. Contact support@nxus.shop for questions about these processors.
